Staying on our path.
In these days of around-the-clock news, social media feeds, and never-ending to-do lists, is it any wonder that sometimes we feel distracted and overwhelmed? The sad reality is we’re a little like raccoons – looking for the shiny object. Or the dog in this cartoon;) (cartoon by Maria Scriva)
If staying on our path, task or mission is the goal/hope, then we have a few ways to approach it. Many practices such as mindfulness, yoga, or meditation can really assist in staying on our path. I am reminded of the quote from the book by Garth Stein, .
The car goes where the eyes go
I think the trick is knowing when we start to veer from the path we bring ourselves back to the path/balance and that means we need to check in often.
Similar to when we hop our screens to do a search and end up in a very different place and then forget what are looking for and have to go to history to remember! Has that happened to anyone?
